The 5 Hole: Style Points in Sunrise

If there was going to be a week that signified that the New York Islanders are a legitimate threat going forward, it’s this one. New York was set to play four games in the next six nights, starting tonight in Sunrise for the first of a Sunshine State back-to-back with the Florida Panthers. The Isles were looking to continue their strong play on the road after getting back to NHL .500 with a win last Saturday in Ottawa. They were also looking to bounce back from a hard-fought loss last Friday at home to those same Ottawa Senators.
Jaroslav Halak got the nod in goal, as the Isles were victorious in the shootout 5-4. It was a big night for the offense yet again, as they put up another four goals. New York has now won four straight on the road and eight of their last ten. The best hits from tonight’s win can be found here:
