Islanders Re-Sign Eric Boulton To One-Year Deal

The New York Islanders have re-signed Eric Boulton, a 39-year old veteran winger, to a one-year two-way deal.

As his agent posted earlier, Eric Boulton has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with #Isles. Turns 40 next month.

Though Boulton played in a career low six games last season, he has played in 654 career games in which he contributed 31 goals, 48 assists, and a crap ton of penalty minutes.
Boulton will most likely serve as a mentor to younger players in Bridgeport, and can be called up if needed. This is similar to the role Matt Carkner has played on the team the past few years.
The contract will pay Boulton $575,000 in the NHL and $150,000 with the Sound Tigers. He is guaranteed $200,000.
Pretty decent considering the fact that he turns forty next month!
Boulton is entering his 22nd professional season. No, that’s not a typo, you read that right. He has split time between the Sabres, Thrashers, Devils, and Islanders since being drafted by the Rangers in the ninth round of the 1994 draft.
Islanders fans can look forward to watching Eric Boulton kick the crap out of guys for at least one more year.
