Just when you think things were finally going in the right direction, the Islanders get thrown a curve ball. It was announced earlier today that Jaroslav Halak will miss a minimum six weeks, leaving it up to Thomas Greiss to lead the team into the postseason. The team has faced adversity more than enough this year, and they have risen above it in that process including earlier this evening in Toronto. Greiss and the Isles ran out of gas tonight as they fell 3-2 in a shootout. They picked a point but there four game winning streak comes to an end. Social media recap can be found below.
