About Face Value: Season Ticket Prices Will Not Be Raised

Barclays Center did the right thing and then did some more.
After speaking with fans at Sunday’s game and our report detailing Barclays Center plan to raise ticket prices 66% – from $15 to $25 for a number of season ticket holders, the arena has decided to honor their e-mail communication and maintain prices at $15 for the 2016-17 season.

On Tuesday afternoon, impacted season ticket holders started receiving calls and were told that following internal meetings with CEO Brett Yormark and others, the decision was made to keep prices where they are for next season.
Barclays acknowledged not being aware that season ticket holders in 229 were never told their price would be for one year only or advised of ticket costs in comparable sections.
In addition, IslesBlog has learned in an effort to make the pricing fair for ticket holders in sections with similar limited views, pricing is expected to be reduced for Sections 203, 204 and 228 to $15 for Rows 2 and above. Row 1 in all sections will be sold at a higher price.

Changes in prices for Sections 230, 231, 201 and 202 were not mentioned.
I’ve been hard on Barclays Center this season – very hard. But the organization continues to display a willingness to listen to the fans and are not beyond correcting a mistake.
Could have this situation, the pre game warm-ups, the mascots, the goal horn all been avoided? Of course. Yet, the most important thing is to get it right and in the end, Barclays did just that.
