The Islanders (30-22-11) continue the road trip with an afternoon tilt with Calgary (35-26-4). Greiss vs Elliott in net. The Flames strike first from the goal line with 5 mins left in the first. Islanders have yet to show up as Brodie circles the net but throws it in front before hand, banking it off Greiss’ leg and trickles in to make it 2-0. And shortly after that another d-zone collapse, Ferland walks off the boards and puts one over Greiss’ glove to make it 3-0. Before the period ends, Calgary manages to have a 4on1 which results in a 4-0 lead and I would not want to be in that Isles locker room during the first intermission. Berube replaces Greiss for the start of the second. Half way through the second Tavares gets his 24th of the season burying a rebound and it’s 4-1. Versteeg makes it 5-1 with 13 mins left but followed by Chimera making it 5-2 with 8 mins left. And that’s how it’ll end, Isles drop a tough one to the Flames 5-2 due to a horrendous start. See you Tuesday in Edmonton.

#isles defense was bound to be a disaster today.

#isles and weekend day games aren't a good combo.

Hard to win when Greiss is the only one who shows up. #Isles

What a performance.

Looks like I picked the right day to go see Logan. See you in three hours. Maybe the Islanders will have a shot on goal by then.
