Report: Black Jerseys Unveiled 9/21, In Stores on 9/23

Reports are out that the unveiling of the Islanders Black 3rd jerseys will be on Monday, September 21st and available in stores as early as September 23rd.
Way back when in 2013, SBJ’s Chris Botta tweeted that this day would come.

It’s not news that the jersey’s are black, we knew that was coming. Some had held out hope of a Brooklyn Dodgers inspired 3rd jersey, but deep down we all knew there was no way Barclays wasn’t going the Black and White route.
I’m eager to see what they came up with, I would be ecstatic with if it was simply the Islanders logo in Black and White.
Simple. Sleek. Understated.
No Ice Girls. No Sparky. Black Jerseys. It’s a Brave New World.
