Nichols: Islanders announce partnership with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty

The New York Islanders announced a multi-year partnership today with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. The partnership starts immediately for the remainder of the 2020-21 season and will continue as the franchises moves into their new home, UBS Arena at Belmont Park, for the 2021-22 season.

“As a home-grown real estate organization, we could not be more excited about our exclusive sponsorship agreement with Long Island’s home team,” said Chief Executive Officer Deirdre O’Connell. “When the team moves into UBS Arena, it will be located squarely among Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty offices in Nassau, Queens, and Suffolk counties. We look forward to the  outstanding exposure we’ll get with this partnership, as well as working with the entire Islanders organization and its fans to serve their real estate needs.”

“This is our first venture into partnering with a professional sports team, and we are exceedingly positive about this exclusive relationship with our hometown heroes,” said Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty President and Chairman of the Board Patricia J. Petersen. “As Long Islanders, as realtors, and even more so as Islander fans, we are proud to play a role in this exciting new chapter for  the Islanders.”

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty’s goals align with that of the Islanders organization, as the $4 billion-dollar organization is committed to marketing and showing homes safely and effectively by upholding strict protocols during physical showings, providing video tours of most listed properties, many including 3-D tours and floor plans, and arranging virtual smartphone tours at customer and client request.

“As we prepare to move into our new home at UBS Arena later this year, we are proud to enter into a  long-term strategic alliance with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, the preeminent Long  Island-based real estate organization that has served the needs of Islanders fans and neighbors for many years,” said Islanders Senior Vice President of Partnerships Bryan Calka.

Now the official partner of the Islanders, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty will see plenty of TV exposure, such as ads on the ice or around the rink, and a strong presence on the  Islanders’ website and social media platforms.

The most exciting part is the community aspect. In order to have a successful partnership, you need to do amazing work together,” said Calka. “Daniel Gale is going to be in the fabric of our platforms that we have around women in sports, as well as our Islanders children’s foundations golf tournaments. They made it clear when talking to them that it needed to be a part of the community. The partnership not just about media availability, it had to do with letting Islander fans know who they are, how long they’ve been around, and how important they are to the community.”

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has deep roots in the Long Island community, selling homes and real estate in area as they head into their 100th year of business.

“You have two franchises, one in sports and one in real estate that has been known as powerhouses. Think of the history we have since 1972, the same can be said about Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. In order to have an organization that is so Islanders centric and so woven in the community is amazing. For them to celebrate 100 years, and (the Islanders) 50, that’s a lot of houses they’ve been selling for 100 years in comparison for (the Islanders) scoring goals in 50 years.”

The community was key for the Islanders in this partnership. Partnering with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty was not just about the benefits that come with a successful organization, it was about continuing to ingrain the Islanders roots to Long Island.

“We are still Long Island’s team, said Calka. “We continue to work and foster relationships with top teams on Long Island. We don’t forget our roots.”
