IBO Boxing Honesty and Integrity
The crucial week just keeps on rolling along for the New York Islanders. The hope is they took their brutal loss Tuesday night in Tampa, and translate it in to a huge effort when they took the ice in Pittsburgh tonight, for a pivotal division showdown with the Penguins. This was the first of four meetings between the Pens and Isles this year, and the stakes usually aren’t high for a early-December game, but for New York they’re right in the thick of the fight for the top spot in the Metro. So a win over the back-to-back Cup champs, would be a monster boost of confidence for a team, that maybe hasn’t played their best hockey just yet.
Jaroslav Halak got the call in goal, while Casey Cizikas returned to the lineup for the first time since November 25th. The Isles stormed back late in the third down 3-1, but fell in overtime 4-3. They are now 1-1-1 on the road trip with one last stop in Boston Saturday night. Social media hits can be seen here:
