NBCSN, CNBC & USA Network To Carry More Than 450 Hours Of PyeongChang Winter Olympics Coverage

NBC Olympics will again utilize fully-distributed NBCUniversal cable channels NBCSN, CNBC, and USA Network to televise more than 450 hours of coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games this February from PyeongChang, South Korea.

NBCSN will serve as the cable home of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, televising 368.5 hours of coverage, including 10 days of wall-to-wall 24-hour coverage. Gold medal finals on NBCSN include hockey, snowboarding, short track, luge, and bobsled. For the first time ever, NBCSN will present live primetime coverage of a Winter Olympics, airing nearly every night throughout the Games.

CNBC will present 46 hours of coverage, again highlighted by its popular evening curling telecasts. USA Network will air live curling and hockey as part of its 40.5 hours of live programming.

NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app will provide authenticated live streaming of all NBCSN, CNBC and USA Network coverage. Cable coverage will complement the programming airing on NBC, the details of which will be announced soon. Following is a breakdown of each network’s Olympic coverage:

NBCSN

The PyeongChang Winter Olympics begin on NBCSN on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 11 p.m. ET – two days before Opening Ceremony coverage – with live coverage of mixed doubles curling, which makes its Olympic debut in PyeongChang. Additional highlights include:

• 368.5 total hours of coverage – up nearly 60% from 230 hours during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics;

• Ten days of 24-hour coverage; 156 consecutive hours of coverage from Feb. 18-25;

• Live primetime coverage nearly every night of the Games, an Olympic Winter Games first;

• Live coverage of the men’s and women’s hockey gold medal finals;

• Gold medal finals in biathlon, bobsled, cross-country skiing, luge, Nordic combined, short track, ski jumping, snowboarding, and speed skating.

CNBC

CNBC — NBCUniversal’s fully distributed cable business channel — will again present daily curling programming. The channel will televise 46 hours of curling and hockey coverage over 12 days, beginning Monday, Feb. 12, and concluding Friday, Feb. 23.

• CNBC’s curling coverage airs 5-8 p.m. ET from Feb. 12-23, except for Sunday, Feb. 18, when coverage will air from 4-7 p.m. ET;

• CNBC will present the gold medal final of mixed doubles curling on Tuesday, Feb. 13;

• Live primetime men’s and women’s hockey coverage will air from 10 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET on Feb. 14-16 and Feb. 20.

USA NETWORK

USA Network — NBCUniversal’s fully distributed cable entertainment channel — will present 40.5 hours of hockey and curling coverage throughout the Games, the majority of which will be shown live.

• USA Network coverage begins on Saturday, Feb. 10, with a live presentation of the women’s hockey qualifying round;

• Quarterfinal games in men’s and women’s hockey, as well as the women’s bronze medal game on Wednesday, Feb. 21;

• Coverage will air from 7-9:30 a.m. ET on most mornings. On some days, USA Network’s Olympic coverage will span 2:30-9:30 a.m. ET windows.

NBC’s primetime coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games from PyeongChang, South Korea, begins Thursday, Feb. 8, followed by the Opening Ceremony on Friday, February 9. More programming details will be announced in the coming weeks.
