The 5 Hole: Tough Defeat in D.C.

As the calendar on the month turns to November, Isles fans always begin to look to recent seasons to try to and examine why the month is still considered the biggest month of the season. And it’s not that hard to tell, as the past four Novembers the Islanders have endured have made or broken them, despite still three quarters of an entire year remaining. Starting tonight in Washington, the club had a chance not only to keep their consistent play going from the past two weeks, but to also start one of the more crucial months of the 2017-18 season on the right foot.
In just their third divisional game of the season, the Islanders dominated but fell to the Capitals 4-3. The power play struck twice again, and Josh Bailey and John Tavares continued their point streaks. New York is back at it Sunday against the Avalanche. Social media recap below:
