If you can make a case for the biggest game of the season, you can never go wrong when it’s the Islanders and Rangers. Even this early in the year, the stakes are always high when these two rivals take the ice. The fact that both teams are off to slow start — the Isles, 2-3-1, and the Blueshirts, 1-5-1 — a victory for either team could get them going in the right direction. Mathew Barzal and Ryan Pulock also got their first taste of the hatred between the two clubs.
