The 5 Hole: Stealing Two Points in Raleigh

After an embarrassing loss last night, a banged up New York Islanders club was right back on the road as they took on the same team that bombarded them last night, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Islanders have yet to beat the Hurricanes this season, allowing 20 goals in the three games they’ve faced off. New York was in desperate need of a win tonight as they still sat just one point behind Toronto for the final wild card spot. Without question, especially after last night’s debacle, tonight was the most important game of the Islanders season.
In a game they could not lose or come away with at least a point, the Isles came back from 2-0 to win the game in overtime on a John Tavares goal off a beautiful drop-pass from Josh Ho-Sang. The Isles stopped their two game losing streak and now head home for the next five of eight games. The best from social media can be found here:
