The 5 Hole: BEAUtiful Night in Montreal

The Islanders woke up earlier this morning in a playoff spot for the first time all season, but the team and Doug Weight knew they couldn’t just pat themselves on the back just yet. Looking to try and begin to distance themselves from the pack, the Isles headed to Montreal for the second game of their nine-game road swing. New York hasn’t won at Bell Centre since April 2014, so tonight was a good chance to kill some demons as they did the prior game in Detroit. It was also a special night as Sorel-Tracy, Quebec native Anthony Beauvillier who played back in front of family and friends for the first time back home.
These two teams always put on an entertaining affair, tonight was no different as the Isles shutout the Habs 2-0. Anthony Beauvillier had a night to remember as he scored the game winning goal, while Thomas Greiss recorded his third shutout of the season. New York has now won three in a row and four of their last five games heading into Columbus Saturday. The best from social media can be found below:
