The Islanders (24-18-10) head up to Ottawa to take on the Senators (28-18-6) in an afternoon game on Saturday. Anderson’s return to the Sens since leaving in early December to be with his wife (cancer). 4:10 into the game, Mark Stone gets his 20th of the year by banking the puck off Greiss from behind the net. Isles kicked off the 2nd period with 4 shots within the first 90 seconds. But nonetheless it’s Turris who feeds a streaking Zack Smith who splits the Isles defense and gets it passed Greiss to put the Islanders down 2-0. After a sloppy Isles powerplay, Pyatt finds Pageau with a cross-crease pass on the rush to give Ottawa a 3-0 lead. An uneventful 3rd period winds down with Tavares taking a slashing penalty and the Islanders dropping this one to the Sens 3-0. An emotional 33 save shutout for Anderson in first game back.

Sloppy doesn't win games. Every game matters, every point matters. Unacceptable.

Other than the two goals, hard to say this was a "bad" game for the #Isles, they had their chances, Anderson was just flat out better

A 33-save shutout for Craig Anderson in his return to the #sens crease. Bravo.
