The 5 Hole: Success in Sunrise

For the final time this season, the Islanders headed to South Florida for a matchup with the Florida Panthers. Tonight’s game was the second of a home and home between the two teams which started Wednesday night in Brooklyn with a very disappointing 2-1 defeat. The loss was the third straight game where New York lost by a 2-1 score, so tonight was a chance for the team to change their fortune hopefully with a victory.
Looking for the offense to bust out like they were before the New Year, the Isles did just that in a 5-2 victory. John Tavares reached the 500 point plateau and picked up the hat trick, while Anthony Beauvillier played a strong game that included an assist on the first goal of the game. The Isles will look to make it two in a row tomorrow night in Raleigh. Social media recap can be found here:
