If the Islanders were going to head into the new year believing they still had a possible shot at the playoffs, they needed to start winning games on the road. With that it mind, they began a span of seven of eight on away from Barclays Center earlier this evening against the second hottest team in the NHL, the Minnesota Wild. The Wild came in on an 11-game winning streak while the Isles looked to extend their win to four.
In a hard-fought contest, the Isles fell 6-4. They will look to rebound on Saturday night in Winnepeg against the Jets. Social media recap below:
