Primary Pricing For Islanders Tickets Favorable For Marquee January Games

With the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh Penguins struggling to find their groove in the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference, the New York Islanders have gone 5-5-0 in their last 10 games, won three out of their last four and have moved into second place, only trailing the Washington Capitals.
After winning their final two games of the 2015 calendar year against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres on the road, the Islanders dropped their third consecutive road game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. To win the third of their past four games, the Islanders put in a strong performance at home against the best team in the NHL, the Dallas Stars.
The Stars—leading the NHL with 60 points—trailed 5-2 heading into the third period and tried to complete the comeback but just fell short, as one Islanders goal was enough to give them a 6-5 victory.
The Islanders (22-13-5), trail the Capitals by 10 points but they have played two more games. On top of their two games already played in January, the Islanders have eight games remaining this month. With secondary market information provided by TiqIQ.com, below are the five most expensive in terms of average ticket price.
1/14/2016 | New York Islanders vs. New York Rangers | Barclays Center | Average Price: $220.72
1/09/2016 | Philadelphia Flyers vs. New York Islanders | Wells Fargo Center | Average Price: $153.66
1/23/2016 | New York Islanders vs. Philadelphia Flyers | Barclays Center | Average Price: $129.36
1/25/2016 | New York Islanders vs. Detroit Red Wings | Barclays Center | Average Price: $88.40
1/17/2016 | New York Islanders vs. Vancouver Canucks | Barclays Center | Average Price: $85.49
It’s no surprise that an Islanders vs. Rangers game leads the way for January, as the cross-town rivalry has magnified since the Islanders’ move to the Barclays Center. Although buying tickets through the secondary market is common, Islanders tickets through Ticketmaster prove to have better pricing for certain opportunities.
For example, for the January 14th game against the Rangers, the secondary market has tickets in Section 223, Row 14 for $173, while Ticketmaster has tickets in the same row and section for $150.
The same can be seen for the January 23rd home game against the Flyers, where tickets through the secondary market for Section 207, Row 20 costs $125 each while through the Ticketmaster platform, they costs $115 each. For all home games, Barclays Center parking through ParkWhiz.com starts at $7 to enhance the process of entering and leaving the arena.
The Islanders have some key division games in January, including three dates against the Capitals that can help them make a realistic surge towards the top of the Metropolitan. Two of the matchups with the Capitals are at home at the Barclays Center.
