Observations on Anthony Joshua’s Win and Roy Jones’ Loss

Dreadful to see Roy Jones lose the way he did to Enzo Maccarinelli in Russia – thank God he got up from that brutal KO – how does Roy keep enduring these knockout losses? He keeps getting up somehow – Roy will always get up – that’s the kind of champion he is – he will get up – but he does not need to get up ever again – this has to be the end – at his best Roy Jones is the best fighter we ever saw – I know – there’s a lot of “best fighters we ever saw” smile emoticon too many to count – Enzo showed tremendous respect for Roy after kissing his gloves –
Anthony Joshua had his big test last night and passed in flying colors – Dillian Whyte was a most threatening and confident challenger and he forced Joshua to answer the hardest questions – which he did in style – Hurt badly in round two Joshua did not freeze like Bruno or look absolutely lost – he kept his head and cool and balance and weathered the storm – he took control of the fight and became the matador controlling his bull – Joshua waited patiently for the opening and in round seven unleashed the deathblow – the big right to Whyte’s forehead – a slight bit sloppy in the finish but Joshua finished the job – and with this fine performance declared himself as the co-heir-apparent with Tyson Fury to succeed Wladimir Klitschko – not sure if Johsua can handle Fury’s diverse and confusing style – their inevitable showdown will be for all the marbles – I don’t see the Alabama heavyweight champion on the same level as Joshua of Fury — Scoop Malinowski
