OneTeam Partners (OneTeam) and Opendorse today announced a first-of-its-kind partnership that will deliver group licensing opportunities to athletes at scale. The partnership, which comes as college athletes are afforded the right to be compensated for their name, image, and likeness (NIL), designates OneTeam as the exclusive group licensing partner of Opendorse.

OneTeam will leverage Opendorse Deals™, the sports industry’s leading athlete marketplace, as its preferred platform to manage all group licensing initiatives. Through Opendorse Deals, athletes can opt-in to group licensing programs and will receive compensation for the use of their NIL on consumer products like video games, jerseys and t-shirts.

“This partnership with Opendorse enhances our ability to deliver innovative licensing opportunities to athletes at every level,” said Ahmad Nassar, CEO of OneTeam Partners. “As landmark changes on NIL go into effect, and on the heels of last week’s Supreme Court decision, college athletes can at long last license their NIL to the biggest brands in sports.”

“OneTeam shares in our commitment to empowering college athletes at all levels with turnkey and customized monetization opportunities,” said Blake Lawrence, CEO of Opendorse. “There is tremendous upside to the group player licensing model, and we’re excited to unlock more opportunities for college athletes looking to be compensated for use of their NIL, and brands seeking to reach current and prospective customers in innovative ways.”

To become available for future group licensing opportunities, college athletes can sign up and complete their Opendorse Profile at any time, and opt-in to Opendorse Deals beginning July 1, 2021.

A growing licensing, marketing and multimedia powerhouse, OneTeam launched as a joint venture between the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) and RedBird Capital Partners to maximize the collective value of athletes’ rights across group licensing, marketing, media and investing. OneTeam represents a range of commercial business interests on behalf of the athletes of the NFLPA, MLBPA, MLSPA, U.S. Women’s National Team PA, WNBPA and U.S. Rugby PA.
