Islanders' home tickets prices soar in final playoff run at Coliseum

COVID regulations are finally starting to subside, and with that, a sense of normalcy is beginning to return. It’s been a wonderful sight to see fans in the stands and hear the roar of the crowd. What’s not so wonderful, however, is the arm and leg fans had to give up to acquire a seat.
Ticket prices for this year’s opening-round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins were 71% higher than the last time they played at Nassau Coliseum in 2019, also against Pittsburgh averaging around $320. This year’s second-round games at Nassau Coliseum are 78% higher than their 2019 conference semifinal series against the Hurricanes at Barclays Center, which averaged $327 a ticket.
Now, prices are further inflated for the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the average list price on secondary markets costing $547 in the first round of the playoffs. And if you thought that was bad, the prices have only gotten higher in the second round, with that average price rising to $582 for a ticket. That’s roughly a seven percent increase from the first round.
