GSE Worldwide is thrilled to welcome Katrina M. Adams, former President, CEO and Chairperson of the United States Tennis Association (USTA), to its Board of Directors.

Adams brings an array of experience and accolades to the role, having overseen the transformation of the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center (home of the U.S. Open) and the development of the USTA’s digital communications strategy with a committed and experienced team, amongst other key initiatives. Adams was a pioneer in her position as the first African American, first former professional tennis player, and the youngest and first two-term Chairman and President to occupy the role.

“I’m excited to continue this new chapter in my career and life,” said Adams. “I think I can bring a unique perspective to the Board as a former professional athlete and executive leader of a sports league.”

Adams was named to Adweek magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in Sports” list twice (2016 and 2017), Forbes magazine’s “Most Powerful Women in Sports” list in 2017 and Ebony magazine’s “Power 100” list. Her new book “Own The Arena,” set for release by Harper Collins February 23rd, is a memoir packed with insight and inspirational stories from her playing career and her times as an executive, where she was often “the only woman, only black woman, or only person of color”.

“Katrina adds a tremendous amount of value to GSE for our clients with a wealth of experience and relationships amassed during her standout career,” added Mike Principe, CEO of GSE Worldwide. “Once she’s immersed in the GSE culture and business, we know Katrina will help the organization achieve even greater heights moving forward.”

Adams attended Northwestern University 1985-1987, before she enjoyed a 12-year career on the WTA Tour, winning 20 career doubles titles and reaching the quarterfinals or better in doubles at all four Grand Slam events.

Adams joins other notable GSE Worldwide board members, including Liad Meidar, Gatemore Capital Management co-founder and GSE Worldwide Chairman, and attorney and political commentator Bakari Sellers, who represented South Carolina in the House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014 when he was the youngest African American elected official in the country at age 22.

“GSE has made outstanding progress over the last two years and this latest appointment is testament to the great work that the management team has done” said Meidar. “The Company continues to go from strength to strength and we look forward to working closely with the team to support GSE on its growth journey.”
