Nichols: Islanders’ UBS Arena to Host The Weeknd

The metropolitan area’s most anticipated sports venue, UBS Arena, announced today that they will be hosting ‘The Weeknd’ on April 27th, 2022 as part of his ‘After Hours’ World Tour.

The tour will kick off on January 14th in Vancouver at Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena with stops in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Paris, Berlin, and more.

This is the first announced musical entertainment for UBS Arena, however, it won’t be the first musical performance at the venue. The announcement comes just days ahead of the multi-platinum singer’s Super Bowl halftime performance with a handful of new tour dates and rescheduled performances from 2021.
Just over a year after “Blinding Lights” record-breaking 47th week in the top 10, and 38th week in the top 5 on Billboards hot 100 career-spanning projects, ‘The Highlights’ will be available everywhere beginning Friday, February 5th. ‘The Highlights,’ although not considered a greatest hits album, will be a collection of The Weeknd’s favorite hits.
The $1.1 billion first-class UBS Arena will be one of the most modern and innovative in the world, making it a must-play stop for major touring artists such as The Weekend. The convenient location of the future home to the New York Islanders makes it easy to travel, whether by train from Penn Station, or close driving proximity from New York City, Westchester, Southern Connecticut, and Long Island.
Tickets are now on sale for rescheduled dates and previously purchased tickets will be valid for the corresponding rescheduled dates.

Tickets will go on sale for The Weeknd at UBS Arena beginning Monday, February 8th at 10AM local time at TheWeeknd.com/Tour.
