With Masters Week underway, opendorse – the leading athlete marketing platform that helps the biggest brands in sports share content on social – released its ranking of the Top 5 Most Engaging Players in Golf.
Leading the way is Rory McIlroy, the betting favorite to win the 2019 Masters Tournament, whose Facebook engagements alone were nearly 8x that of the second player on the list, Rickie Fowler. The complete list is below, based off total engagements, which includes every like, share, retweet, comment and other social factors each players’ posts received during the indicated time period.
Since 2017, the PGA TOUR has used opendorse to send high quality content to its players. In September of 2018, the partnership grew to include content creation, wherein the PGA TOUR looked to opendorse to help create custom assets for players to boost their brands on social media. “opendorse has been a tremendous asset in helping the TOUR and the game’s top players work together on social,” said Brian Oliver, Executive Vice President Corporate Partnership at the PGA TOUR. “We’re excited to expand our relationship with opendorse to add social media value for our marketing partners.”
“The PGA TOUR has embraced the power of its players beyond the course,” said opendorse CEO Blake Lawrence. “Our partnership marks the next step for player marketing in the game of golf. Now, players can use opendorse not only to build their brands, but to capitalize on their value alongside the TOUR’s premier partners.”
