Sports Broadcaster Siera Santos Joins La Vida Baseball

Siera SantosLa Vida Baseball (LVB), the nation’s leading English speaking Latino baseball digital media company, announced today that it has hired Siera Santos as on-air talent and content producer. As the first on-air talent to join the company in its third year, Santos will have a prominent role in all LVB content creation, including hosting a daily live show in development which will be distributed across all major social media platforms. LVB further expanded its operations with the addition of Jose de Jesus Ortiz as editor and senior writer.

“Our audience has grown from zero to a reach of more than six million per month in less than two years,” said Jay Sharman, CEO of La Vida Baseball and its parent company TeamWorks Media. “We’re thrilled to have Siera and Jesus play an integral part of our team’s strategy to engage, entertain and stir the passions of our growing Latino baseball audience, especially as we look to add live programming to our content calendar in 2019.”

“As a lifelong follower of baseball and a Latina professional I have a great amount of cultural pride and interest in the storytelling of the game, and I am looking forward to help telling those stories of both the past and the present through La Vida Baseball,” Santos said. “The untold opportunities around the game that we can bring forth in all forms of media makes this a very exciting opportunity for me personally and professionally.”

Before joining La Vida Baseball Santos was anchor/reporter at Fox 32 Chicago and spent three years at the regional sports network NBC Sports Chicago as anchor/reporter, becoming the first Latina to join the staff. She brings ample on-air experience with stops in Los Angeles, Oklahoma City and Colorado Springs and enjoys connecting (and arguing) with sports fans via social media.

Ortiz, the first Latino to serve as president of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, has covered Major League Baseball for more than two decades. He has worked in three of the top four media markets in America and has authored two books, including “Houston Astros – Armed and Dangerous” on the 2005 National League Champions.
