Now Mayweather Sounds Like He Knows He Will Lose To McGregor

We are just a couple of weeks away from Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor. This week Mayweather gave an interview to ESPN and the man who for years touted himself as ‘The Best Ever’ suddenly sounds like a guy who knows he’s about to get beaten up.

“It’s obvious I’m slipping a little bit to even let a fighter like Andre Berto go the distance with me. I’m not what I used to be.”

“I used to have a 90 per cent knockout ratio. It’s obvious I slipped somewhere. Something has taken a toll on my career.”

“He’s a lot younger, so youth is on his side. And I’ve been off a couple of years. And I’m in my 40’s. So, if you look at everything on paper, it leans toward Conor McGregor.”

Another very strange development is that Mayweather also suddenly feels an obligation to abandon his safety-first style against McGregor and suddenly he has no fears about “self preservation” and his “health.” “This can’t be a defensive fight. I gotta go to him. I have to go to him.”

WHY Floyd WHY? Why would you do that? And why would you give away your tactics?

“Because I owe the public for the Pacquiao fight. They weren’t pleased with the Pacquiao fight (because of Mayweather’s timid, cautious defense-first tactics). They will be pleased with this one.”

“The Best Ever” also suddenly does not care about his perfect record. “It doesn’t matter if it’s 50-0, or 49. It doesn’t matter. Just give me my check,” he said with his trademark smile.

When a person’s normal behavioral patterns suddenly change you have to wonder. Is Mayweather trying to sell the mismatch fight? Why would he feel the need to sell a mismatch fight against a novice boxer if his check is supposedly guaranteed? Why would Mayweather fight a “stupid” fight which will give McGregor his best chance to win?

Could it be that Floyd is trapped in such a desperate, precarious IRS debt situation that he has to lose this fight to escape his financial troubles?

Could it be possible that Floyd knows he is going to lose this fight to McGregor and he wants to condition his fans and enthusiasts to accept that he could indeed fail them this time?

Frankly, the closer this fight gets, the more and more it looks like the cards are all set up for the new fistic star, brand name franchise to assume the throne.
