‘Kubo and the Two Strings’ arrives on DVD this November
Laika really made something special with Kubo and the Two Strings. The film has a perfect blend of stunning visuals, great characters and terrifying monsters. Here is the synopsis for Kubo and the Two Strings:
From the acclaimed animation studio LAIKA (Coraline) comes an epic original action adventure featuring the voice talents of Academy Award® winners Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey. Kubo mesmerizes the people of a local fishing village, with his magical gift for spinning wild tales with origami. When he accidentally summons an evil spirit seeking vengeance, Kubo is forced to go on a quest to solve the mystery of his fallen samurai father and his mystical weaponry, as well as discover his own magical powers.
This DVD will be packed with tons of amazing bonus features. There is an Introduction by Producer/ Director Travis Knight where he introduces people to ‘Kubo’s journey’. In ‘Mythological Monsters’ the filmmakers and crew discuss the new techniques they used to create these antagonists. Viewers will learn how each monster differed in scale, design and execution. ‘Japanese Inspiration’ has the creative teams and cast going into greater detail on the story. Then there is ‘The Myth of Kubo’ where the cast and filmmakers will discuss the story at the core of Kubo and the Two Strings.
