Tekken 7 Brings Plenty of Bone Crushing Action
Tekken 7 was playable at E3 this year and Jay Snook was able to try this game out
I have always been a fan of fighting games. It all began with Mortal Kombat, a series that to this day I really enjoy playing. I have played some of the Soul Caliber games, Killer Instinct 2 and Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Until E3 though I don’t believe I have ever played a Tekken game. I had a chance to try Tekken 7 out and although I mainly got my butt kicked playing the demo here is what I thought of it anyway.
Here is the plot for Tekken 7:
The game’s story will be much darker than ever before, closer in tone to Tekken 4 and will serve as the conclusion of the Mishima clan saga. It will provide answers regarding the feud between Heihachi Mishima, his son, Kazuya Mishima and his grandson, Jin Kazama, including the origins of Devil Gene among other Tekken mysteries. It will also introduce the backstory regarding Heihachi’s wife, Kazumi Mishima, who was killed by him years prior to the events of the earlier games. Akuma, of the Street Fighter series who was announced as a guest character, will play a vital role in the story.
I enjoyed playing the Tekken 7 demo at E3. It was on the Xbox One which is a system I am not that familiar with but I was still able to get in a few sweet moves and even won a few rounds. Tekken 7 is going to be the first game in the series powered by the Unreal Engine 4 which brings highly detailed characters and dynamic environments and takes the graphics quality of the series to new heights. When this becomes available on home consoles and PCs Tekken 7 will deliver numerous modes including an epic Story Mode that enables players to fully experience Tekken‘s canon storyline. For more information on everything in the Tekken universe check out this website.
Players will also be able to play as new fighters such as Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Lucky Chloe, Gigas, and Akuma from the Street Fighter franchise amongst an impressive stable of fighters for the first-time-ever outside of arcades. I only got to play as a few of these characters but not only do they look amazing but they all pack a punch. Akuma is one of my favorites because even a novice player can kick butt with him with all of his powerful combos and special attacks. There is definitely a learning curve here but fans of the past games are going to love this one. If you want to pre-order Tekken 7 head to this website.
People who liked the Tekken games will definitely want to play this one. Fans of fighting games will get a real kick out of Tekken 7. Tekken 7 will be available In North America on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in early 2017. You can follow Tekken 7 on Facebook and like the game on Twitter.
