Get a good look at some old friends, some new ones and a glimpse of Dory’s parents
Finding Nemo came out in 2003 and was an instant hit for Disney/Pixar. It had everything audiences could ask for including wonderful characters, heartfelt moments, some tragedy and a journey to reunite a father and son. On this journey Marlin, a clownfish happened to meet a forgetful fish named Dory. Together somehow they swam a great distance but in the end this father and son were reunited and Dory became a close family friend from then on. After all this time a sequel to this animated film is coming out but in this new adventure it will focus on Dory although Nemo and Marlin will be there too. The new trailer has been released online and here is what we know from it.
Finding Dory will take place six months after Finding Nemo where Dory (Ellen Degeneres) begins to remember some memories from her childhood. With Nemo (Hayden Rolence) and Marlin (Albert Brooks) by her side she goes on a quest to find her family. Dory ends up at the Monterey Marine Life Institute where she reunites with her old friend Destiny (Kaitlin Olsen) and Hank the octopus (Ed O’Neill) who acts as her guide to help her find out where her parents are. The quest will be long and there is no guarantee of success. How did Dory get separated from her family? Where are they now? And will Nemo and Marlin be able to help her become reunited with them?
The Finding Dory trailer is really entertaining. It is nice to finally get more information about this upcoming sequel and to also get to see some old fan favorites coming back for this movie. This writer also thoroughly enjoyed getting to see a few of the newer characters in action and thought it was awesome to finally get to see her parents. You do have to keep your eyes open for the moment is short but it made this a pretty awesome trailer. It is still a teaser of sorts but does gives some more reasons for people to run out and see this movie this summer. Overall it looks like it will be a great movie that all ages can enjoy.
