Meet Double S 301 Formely Known As Double S 501

Double S 501 ended their hiatus on February 15, 2016, returning as a trio as Kim Hyun Joong and Park Jung Min fulfill their mandatory military service. Remaining members Kim Hyung Jun, Heo Young Seong, and Kim Kyu Jong have successfully created Double S 501’s first sub-unit and are going by the name of Double S 301 (according to Kpop Starz)

Although the group’s music has been updated to connect with a new age of Kpop listeners their music still has an underlying sound that is uniquely Double S 501. Their title track, ‘Pain’ brings a sense of Double S 501 nostalgia as it kind of sounds like the instrumental could be used for a ‘UR Man’ remix and the lyrics, ‘…So pain, I’m so pain…” It takes us back to a time when Kpop lyrics made us cringe with improper grammar and word usage. Anyone remember, ‘It’s gonna be something sparkly’?

Their new album, ‘ETERNAL 5’ (available now!), features five new songs and two instrumentals for a total of seven tracks. All Double S 301 tracks have an accompanying music video with ‘Pain’ and ‘I’m Sorry, I’m Busy’ focusing on all three members while ‘Saxophone’, ‘Dirty Love’, and ‘21Gram’ focus on Double S 501 Kim Hyung Jun, Kim Kyu Jong, and Heo Young Seong respectively. Every member is awarded their own spotlight and is given the chance to show off their acting and unique charms while still maintaining their group image.
It’s great to see how far the men of Double S 501 have come and to see them together again. Many fans have supported their comeback leading to their first trophy win on The Show, February 23, 2016! Double S 301 is on their way to once again dominating the Kpop scene as old and new fans come together and cheer them on!
